Description
Welcome to Fudge Farm, circa 1825! This breathtaking property features 17.41 acres and offers the most gorgeous views you could imagine. I could go on and on about the land, but the focal point here is the house! Built in 1825 this home has been in the Fudge family from day one, and has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1976. It was restored to it's perfection in 1985 by a local historian architect, and is in pristine condition. History has provided us with information showing that there were three Presidents who traveled through the area and visited the home, including Andrew Jackson, Andrew Johnson, and James K. Polk. Every room throughout this lovely home has such captivating stories of events that have happened throughout history. For example, the Winter Kitchen, located on the lower level of the home, was where the servants would cook the meals. After the war, the confederate soldiers would hide under the floors in this room because bounties were put on them. The walls are made of stone from the local quarry, and the fireplace bricks were hand made on the property. There is a cell just off the winter kitchen where prisoners were held when the sheriff would come through and stop to rest. The bars and shackles are still there. The Summer Kitchen, located on the main floor, is one of my favorite rooms! The walls are made of brick and wood beams that have been intwined together. The fireplace is where they would do their cooking. The hardwood floors throughout the home are the original wood floors and are in perfect condition. The architecture throughout the home is exquisite! There is a beautiful red barn at the center of the property which would be a perfect venue for events, and the house could be used as a Bed & Breakfast. Or if you're looking for a farm, or multiple building sites, this is the right property for you! A brochure of the home's history will be added shortly, as I have no more space available for details.
